1. What this covers
Cookies are small records a website stores in your browser; local storage and session storage are the
same idea with more room. This policy covers what the marketing site at wizeclip.io and the application
at app.wizeclip.io store in your browser. It does not cover the platforms WizeClip publishes
to on your behalf, which set their own cookies under their own policies, and it is separate from the
platform sessions WizeClip Connect sends to WizeClip when you connect an account, which are described in the
Privacy Policy.
2. This website
The marketing site sets no cookies of its own for browsing, reading or using the contact form. Six things can be stored:
-
Analytics opt-out. The site uses self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics that count
page views, scroll depth and clicks on buttons in aggregate, without cookies and without following you
to other sites. If you do not want to be counted, open any page with
?notrack=1added to the address; the site then stores a singlewz_no_trackcookie in your browser and the analytics script is no longer loaded for you.?notrack=0removes it. The app sets the same cookie automatically for its administrators, so their own visits are not counted. -
Login state. When you are signed in to the app, a small script from
app.wizeclip.iolets this site show your dashboard link instead of the sign-up button. It reads the app’s own login cookie; it does not set anything new. - Chat. If you open the Ghost chat, the current conversation is kept in your browser’s session storage so it stays open as you move between pages. It is deleted when you close the tab. The chat sets no cookies.
-
Partner invitation. If you open the site through a partner’s link, a bar says whose
invitation it is. Nothing is stored unless you press “Keep the invitation”: then a cookie
(
wc_ref) keeps only the partner’s code for 60 days, so that the partner is credited if you create an account later. The app reads it when you sign up and then deletes it; × closes the bar without storing anything. Clicks on partner links are counted without any cookie. -
Where your visit began. On the first page you open, the site notes in your
browser’s session storage (
wc-from) where the visit came from (a search engine, an AI assistant, another site, a link’s campaign tag, or none) and the address of that page. If you press a sign-up button, these two go with it to the app, which keeps them on your new account; nothing else about the visit is kept. Session storage is deleted when you close the tab, and nothing is noted while the analytics opt-out above is set. -
Language. The site is written in English. If you pick another language with the
language switch at the bottom of a page, a cookie (
wc-lang) keeps that choice for a year, so the pages you open next are shown in that language; picking English again removes it. It holds only the language and is used for nothing else.
3. The app
3.1. Strictly necessary
These are needed for the app to work at all and cannot be switched off while you use it:
- Keeping you signed in and tying requests to your account and workspace.
- Security tokens that protect forms and actions against forgery.
- Routing your requests to the right services.
3.2. Preferences
- Which workspace and creator you last had open, table and filter settings, dismissed tips and notices.
- Interface preferences such as density or the state of side panels.
3.3. Analytics and diagnostics
The app records basic, aggregated usage (which views are opened, how often a feature is used) and error reports, so that problems are noticed and fixed. This is done with the same privacy-friendly approach as the website and is not used for advertising.
3.4. Partner invitation
When you create an account, the app reads the partner invitation cookie described above, if you kept one, and deletes it.
4. Third parties
Payment at checkout is handled by the provider of the method you choose; that provider may store its own cookies on its own pages under its own policy. No advertising network and no social-media tracking script is loaded on wizeclip.io or in the app.
5. Your controls
- The analytics opt-out above works per browser and needs nothing installed.
- Your browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data for wizeclip.io and app.wizeclip.io. Blocking the app’s strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and stop the app from working.
- Clearing site data removes preferences; it does not affect your account, content or sessions stored in WizeClip.
6. Changes
We may update this policy when what we store changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version.
